  I did to a certain extent. Enjoyed giving talks,especially public talks where you could really get into them and also find room for a bit........ok alot of humour and visual aids.

  Wasn't keen on FS,much preferred accidental witnessing where I could talk on my terms.

  Enjoyed the friendship of brothers and sisters,and this kept me going on during the time I was thinking 'is this worth it?'

  Would I go back?? Maybe not but might go to an odd meeting where I am now as no one knows me,or to a DC to see my mum.

  So sorry this is happening. My wife and I separated 2 years ago after 20 years,we are both no longer dubs. One son 19 and 2 step children.

  Its upsetting,you feel confused and disoriented. But focus on what you have always wanted to do,be yourself and fill your life with friends.

  After time someone else may come along. I am now with a wonderful lady who just lets me be me,its brill.

  Does the JW mindset ever leave totaley leave you ?????

  i was 38 years in left 7 years i find myself still in the mindset sometimes maybe becouse wife and some family are still in but can you ever fully ''check out and leave"

  I'm a born in,44 years in,and 4 out with a few inbetween sort of iffy. But I still have the mindset if not the teachings. I don't want to celebrate birthdays/xmas/valentines day etc but then again I don't want to be a witness.

  I've never been happier as I am now. I got a wonderful woman who just lets me be me and we have some great discussions as she is an athiest. My ex wife and all my kids are no longer dubs,but my youngest.hes 19,said that it made us what we are today.....just nice people,and let me tell you,I'm proud of him cos he is the nicest guy in town,everyone loves him.

  How many of you were physically assaulted because of being a JW?

  when i was in the 4th grade, a classroom bully (boy) punched me in the face (i'm female) because i didn't say the pledge of allegiance.

  he was a big boy and i was an average sized girl.

  he didn't break my nose, but he bloodied it, knocked out one of my baby teeth, and caused both my eyes to get blackened.

  Feel for ya Lady Z,

  I too was bullied in school as I was the only witness there in an all boys school. Now we had nothing like the pledge of alleigance and flag saluting,but I did stay out of all the religious studies lessons which attracted the wrong kind of attention.

  I'm not much of a fighter and was beaten,not badly,but a couple of scrapes which my parents came and sorted out. But it didn't stop until I snapped and flattened the ringleader with one punch. On his arse he was!! Boy did it feel good. There was stunned silence until I said 'anybody want any more?'(there was only 2 goons) I was fired up by then. They all slunk away and were all nice and sweet as pie next time saw them.

  Righteous vengence it was.

  Tossed out of the District Convention! What did I do wrong? I exist!!

  this is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.

  Witness work at 2 a.m.?

  a non-jw friend in a southern state has close ties to a jw with a late teen-aged son.

  this son is pioneering during late hours, meaning 11 pm to 2 am.

  i'm told his car group calls on, among others, convenience store workers where they apparently have much idle time on their hands.

  No way!!! Theres only one 2 o'clock in the day and thats in the pm!!

  I was coerced(?) into aux pioneering in October. I UK October is DARK at 5 pm and I was working full time aswell so we were out in the min till 8 ish pm.....never again!! So 2 am sounds plain lunacy.

  there were another 2,700 volunterers taking part in an art installation by renowned nude photographer spencer tunick.

  not ideal weather for it, i have to say.

  it may be midsummer's day, but standing bollock naked, up to my ankles in sea water in the driving rain it certainly didn't feel like it!

  as you say I too wish it could be warmer as I shed my clothes as soon as I can nowadays. Already started on the all over tan during the last hot spell,but now .........usual british weather,its raining!!

  Hey Gadget,

  I went to the MEN Arena in Manchester for Whitesnake and def lepperd,same Place I used to go when I was attending. Much better programme this time.!!
